Our History

Over 30 years of experience
MRI Manserv was founded in 1982 as Manserv AG by the current owner Mr. John Steele after he had left Schlumberger Ltd and returned to Europe from Singapore were he had been the Regional Personnel Manager (Far East) for Schlumberger Wireline Services. In the early years Manserv AG specialised in the oilfield services business placing candidates in China, Middle East and Europe.

The company started to become involved in the high tech industry working, amongst others for 3i Ventures, the high tech venture capital arm of 3i - Investors in Industry. This lead to involvement in the telecommunications, electronics and other technology based companies.

Manserv was servicing more and more internationaal companies that had recruitment requirements on a pan European or even global basis. In order to be able to provide a professional recruitment and executive search service to these clients Manserv sought a suitable international partner. After almost a year of due diligence Manserv AG bought the Master License for Switzerland and Austria for the Executive Search Franchise company Humana International in 1996. Over the next 9 years Manserv successfully developed a franchise network of 7 offices. During this period Humana International was acquired by MRI, Management Recuiters International, a US based recruitment organisation. Manserv therefore changed its name to become MRI Manserv AG. The franchise agreement was sold back to MRI in the summer of 2005 so that Manserv could concentrate on its executive search activities.

Since its founding in 1982 Manserv has developed a vast range of experience covering the fields of oilfield services, electronics, medical technology, pharmaceuticals, automotive, aeronautics, ERP amongst others. Manserv has a multilingual staff and is able to conduct searches using English, German, French, Italian and Spanish.
