Description Global Head of Sales

Our client is an impressively fast growing innovator in the field of Analytical Instruments market. They develop, manufacture, and market innovative atomic force microscopes for imaging and manipulation of surfaces.
Due to their growth, our client is creating a new position where the person is leading the direct- and indirect sales team globally. We are therefore looking for a person with proven record of accomplishment in developing the business internationally for the position

Global Head of Sales

The position is located in Zurich, Switzerland

The role
  • Reports to CEO, is member of the Executive Board and has full responsibility to achieve the sales budget
  • Motivate the sales team and distributors to achieve the best results possible
  • Setting activity and revenue targets for members of the sales team
  • Continual training and development of all members of the sales department
  • Optimize the sales structure by changing/adding new sales people and distributors
  • Strengthen direct sales by creating new sales companies (current focus is India, Japan; other areas may follow)
  • Optimize sales processes
  • Work closely with marketing and product management to provide optimized information on our solutions to support the sales process and to win against competition
  • Attending industry events and conferences to generate new business leads
  • Monthly reporting on sales performance against budget and reporting on variances
  • Quarterly sales reviews and forecast for next 12 months
 
The candidate
Successful candidates will have:
  • Candidate must have proven track record in developing / building up the international business in the Analytical Instruments market
  • Previous experience to successfully manage international sales teams in the scientific instruments market
  • Proven track record of achieving targets and driving sales growth
  • Strong leadership skills and an ability to inspire sales teams
  • A science or engineering degree, or proven affinity for technological products and applications
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • International team player
 
Preferred candidates will have:
  • Experience with surface analysis techniques including AFM, SEM or related technologies
  • Communication skills in German
