Embedded Software Engineer for Energy Storage Systems
Location: Frankfurt
Responsibilities:
- Development of firmware for battery management systems
- Development of software tools for batteries and bulk energy storage systems
- Testing and pre-certification of electronic prototypes
- Installation and approval on site and installation of test systems
- Up to 25% travel to customer, manufacturing and development sites.
- Actively participate in future charger and systems development
- Other Systems design and development activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
- Masters or equivalent in electrical or electronics engineering and good or basic know-how of electrochemical energy storage systems and inverters.
- Project experience in firmware development in C.
- Strong digital electronics background and understanding.
- Must have demonstrable programming experience in various languages and environments – e.g. C++ and Codesys.
- Experience with PLC programming, MODBUS and CANBUS data busses and protocols.
- The ability to work in a multinational team. Fluent in German and English.
- Knowledge of Lithium or lead acid batteries, energy storage systems and chargers.
- Knowledge of and battery monitoring and management systems.
- Knowledge of tool chains of several MCU manufacturers.
- Knowledge in electronics design (LTSpice, Altium).
- Knowledge of renewable energies, energy systems and infrastructures.
